Rumors surfaced today claiming that (everyone’s favorite scientologist) Tom Cruise will reprise his role as the vampire, Lestat in a new film based on the Anne Rice novel The Tale of the Body Thief.
United Artists is reportedly in negotiations with Rice’s publisher for the rights to the Vampire Chronicles volume and, as Cruise is an owner of UA, it’s only reasonable to believe that he would reprise his role from the 1994 film, Interview with the Vampire.

I think Colbie Caillat would be ok, and Colour Revolt is from Mississippi, so they are bound to be good as well

If you saw the Transformers movie in the theaters, you probably saw an interesting preview before the feature. - A group of people toasting their pal as a handheld camcorder records their fun – then suddenly a disturbance outside followed by destruction and explosions. As the trailer ends, all we get is the date 1.18.08.
If you did any research, you found that the trailer was for a new project with the tentative title Cloverfield from LOST producer J.J. Abrams. Go to the website and you find (in typical LOST style) several encrypted puzzles that really lead to nothing, but succeed in making you all the more interested in the film itself.
Well, for those of you whose interest was piqued, Apple has released a new trailer for Cloverfield. Feast your eyes, and let me know what you think:

The new season of 24 doesn’t start for a few months, but you don’t need to wait until January to get a dose of Bauer.
Check out the original unaired 24 pilot from 1994…
How did we survive without the internet and cellphones?

On May 10, 1965 Johnny Cash performed a concert in Starkville, MS in the Mississippi State Animal Husbandry building, because it was, at the time, the only structure large enough to hold such an event. After his performance and a couple of after-parties (one at the πΚΑ house, another at a residence) he was spotted by police officers “crawling down HWY 82 picking weeds”. He was arrested and spent the night in jail for “trespassing”. Cash wrote the song Starkville City Jail after the incident and seemed to carry a grudge even 30 years later (hard to blame him, I’d say).
Johnny Cash was known as an outlaw type, and his Folsom Prison and San Quentin concerts and live recordings made him extremely popular amongst the criminally inclined population. Despite his reputation as a ‘bad boy’ and his tremendous appeal towards those finding themselves on the wrong side of the law, Cash was only arrested twice in his lifetime – the more famous of which was a drug arrest in the El Paso airport.
Starkville held the first annual Flower Pickin’ Festival this weekend and amongst the festivities, the city posthumously offered an official pardon to Cash in a ceremony on Saturday night. Though this was all ceremonial in nature (Cash died in 2003), I’m glad to see the city of Starkville make this move. I really appreciate that they are taking the initiative to celebrate and honor the Man in Black.
Check out this “Starkville City Jail” tribute on YouTube – including a brief explanation of the incident in Cash’s own words…

The first official trailer for the new Rambo film was recently released (there have been some gruesome, unofficial ones floating around for months). I remember watching these movies when I was younger and loving them so I went back and watched First Blood and First Blood Part II. First Blood wasn’t nearly as good as I remember, but Part II was still pretty awesome.
I’m not really an Action freak, but I do occasionally like to see stuff blow up. I’m one of those who welcomed Rocky Balboa last year and I thought it was a good conclusion to the saga… As long as Stallone is playing his own age, and not trying to be 30 again, there’s no reason he shouldn’t keep making the type of movies that made him who he is. He is an Icon – no doubt about that.
There is still some debate over the name of the new movie – IMDB has it listed as simply Rambo, but many other sites are referring to it as John Rambo – I’m gonna have to stick with IMDB.
So, here is the official preview for Rambo:
