Well, it looks like Fox’s 24 will be returning in the fall after all. The show’s producers have announced that they are developing a two hour prequel of sorts that is meant to bridge the gap between the sixth and seventh seasons.
According to the announcement, two years have lapsed between the events of last season and the next season that was put on 12 month hiatus due to the WGA strike. The movie will air sometime during the fall season leading up to the January return of Jack Bauer and his real-time drama.
At the end of the writer’s strike, there were some rumors circulating about a possible split of the show’s seventh season that would have aired during the fall and again during mid-season. But Fox has long ben adamant about running the show uninterrupted and quickly put those rumors to rest.
Other details that surfaced are that the seventh season is set in Washington, DC and will feature the first female U.S. President, played by Cherry Jones.

The most common complaint by fans of the Harry Potter films is that the director cuts out some of the important plot points (this has been done to make the film watchable at 2+ hours instead of 14 or 15 hours, obviously, but has caused disappointment nonetheless). There was talk during the pre-production for Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire about the film being broken up into two parts in order to get more of the detailed story points into the film, but it never happened.
Now, however, during the pre-prod stages of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (the 7th and final book) the producers have decided to break the story up into 2 parts - Kill Bill style, if you will.
Warner Bros. revealed yesterday to the LA Times that they plan to split the film in half with one piece being released in November of 2010 and the finale released in May of 2011. As for the titles, they will simply be called Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part I and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II.
I like this idea. Though I think that the Fourth or Sixth book of the series would perhaps have been better served by being split (the Deathly Hallows has a lot of down time that could be trimmed). The May release of the final chapter will guarantee it to be box office gold as well, and for anyone who thinks they are doing it just for the money… well they might be, but it’s not like they are going to be making any more Harry Potter movies after this one, so let them capitalize all they want.
It’s going to be a while before we see this, and we still have one other movie coming this year, but I think this will be a fitting end for the movie part of the franchise. Hopefully the increase in length will allow them to include more details and be more satisfying to the fans.
I know three posts in one day seems like an awful lot, but there’s one more big announcement that came today that I think most of you will enjoy.
Check out the first trailer from Ed Norton’s The Incredible Hulk
I think this one is going to be way better than the original. First of all, I really didn’t like the original at all and secondly, Ed Frackin’ Norton! I’ve been a huge fan of his for a long, long time. He’s sure to do a fine job.
The Incredible Hulk also stars Liv Tyler, Tim Roth, and William Hurt and is due in theaters on June 13th.
Thoughts?

I’ve been busy this week, and this came out a few days ago, but check out this alternate ending to Will Smith’s I Am Legend that leaked onto the internet.
This is an “Alternate” ending in the truest sense, as it leaves you with a very different feeling than the original ending did.
I know there are going to be some strong opinions about this, so by all means, Lets here ‘em…
I Am Legend comes to DVD, BluRay, and HD-DVD (that’s right) on March 18th. This alternate ending is included as a special feature.
I remember watching Lost Boys when I was far too young for vampire movies, and thinking that the Corey Haim and that Corey Feldman were the best actors ever!! Little did I know that Keifer Sutherland would end up being the one with the career - even if 24 is on an extra-long hiatus…
I also remember the soundtrack being incredible…I may have to revisit that as well.
At any rate, check out this preview for Lost Boys 2: The Tribe, which will go straight to DVD in July.

Alongside DMB this summer will be Robert Earl Keen, an alt-country veteran who will add a lot of energy and charisma to the ticket. Definitely a good addition to the Band’s summer tour.
