Cruise to Reprise Role as Lestat?

Cruise as Lestat in 1994’s Interview with the VampireJared, this one is for you:

Rumors surfaced today claiming that (everyone’s favorite scientologist) Tom Cruise will reprise his role as the vampire, Lestat in a new film based on the Anne Rice novel The Tale of the Body Thief.

United Artists is reportedly in negotiations with Rice’s publisher for the rights to the Vampire Chronicles volume and, as Cruise is an owner of UA, it’s only reasonable to believe that he would reprise his role from the 1994 film, Interview with the Vampire.

    Except for the fact that UA did the third of the Vampire Chronicles without Tom … Unless you heard that Tom wants the role, I wouldn’t count on him being Lestat again.

    The Queen of the Damned was a Warner Bros. picture. UA is an MGM company.
